For the past 3 years, Nobuyuki Tsujii has headlined in autumn a newly created piano festival in Japan, the Mt. Fuji Kawaguchiko Piano Festival. (Festival home page at https://pianofes.stellartheater.jp/)
This will be the 4th edition of the festival created by Avex Classics for Nobu. The event has been popular from the start, and Nobu seems to really relish his role as the resident pianist [and virtually the festival's artistic director.]

Nobuyuki Tsujii Kawaguchiko Special GALA -- Nobu will play music by Japanese composer greats Joe Hisaishi & Ryuichi Sakamoto in the first half, then music by Ravel & Debussy in the 2nd half.
The weather was hot and humid, but the gala concert apparent went well.

Today is Nobuyuki Tsujii's GALA concert. The first half is songs by Joe Hisaishi and Ryuichi Sakamoto. The second half is Ravel and Debussy. And the encore is Moonlight & Nobu-kun's song "Whisper of the River".
And I was sitting on the second floor, so I could see Mt. Fuji 🏔️ ❗️
The sound of the wind and the chirping of the birds is soothing... 🌳

The second day of the Mt. Fuji Kawaguchiko Piano Festival
At the Stella Theater, the first half featured masterpieces by Joe Hisaishi and Ryuichi Sakamoto. The second half featured Ravel and Debussy 🎹
The roof of the Stella Theater was opened for the encore, letting in a fresh breeze.
After the performance, we went for a walk with some mom friends from Tokyo College of Music High School, where Nobuyuki attended, and had a toast at an Italian restaurant 🥂
Today was another sunny day, and Mt. Fuji was beautiful 🗻

Tsujii also tried his hand at improvisation, instantly playing songs requested by the children, such as "Sports Day" and "Star Wars-like songs," which elicited cheers from the audience.
A student said: "I thought it was great that he improvised the melody.""I want to practice more at home so that I can play the piano as well as Mr. Tsujii."
Pianist Nobuyuki Tsujii: "This will be the fourth time we've held the festival, and we're hoping to do our best to make it an even more wonderful festival this year."
After the concert, all the students sang together to express their gratitude.
