Last April (April 22, 2024), it was announced that Nobuyuki Tsujii entered a contract with prestigious record label Deutsche Grammophon. The contract entails a debut album (Beethoven 'Hammerklavier' to be released in early 2025, and, "Additionally, Tsujii's extensive discography (albums recorded with his former label, Avex Classics International) will be re-released by DG in both digital and physical formats (Approximately 15 old albums will be re-released by DG worldwide, and Avex CDs will continue to be distributed in Japan. It will be sold overseas with the DG logo. )
The debut album was indeed digitally released worldwideon November 29 2024, with a physical release date in March this year.
Today (Feb 6), word came that 4 of the 'old albums' have appeared in the DG catalog: CHOPIN Piano Sonatas 2 & 3 (2015); Tchaikovsky Piano Sonata no. 1 ( with a solo piece Schumann's Papillons) with BBC Philharmonic conducted by Yutaka Sado (2011) ; Grieg Rachmaninov concertos with Vasily Petrenko conducting the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra (2018); CHOPIN piano concerto no. 2 with the Deutsche Symphony Orchestra Berlin conducted by Vladimir Askenazy (2018) (with 3 solo CHOPIN nocturnes).
These 4 albums are schedule for release under the DG label on Feb 7 2025.
