A Nobuyuki Tsujii fan wrote: "my friends living in Nagasaki forwarded me a nice news about a concert that Nobu will perform [on August 5] in the famous church in Nagasaki for the 80th anniversary. What a nice [deed] of Nobu and his team to organise this concert."
10 years ago (2015), on the 70th anniversary of the renowned NAGASAKI Urakami Cathedral - destroyed by the atomic bomb & rebuilt thereafter, a "Nobuyuki Tsujii & Friends - prayer, music of hope" concert was held by Nobu and singer Ayaka Hirahara.
A video of the concert can be viewed on the French online video sharing platform DailyMotion, click this link: Nobuyuki Tsujii Concert of Hope, Nagasaki 2015 [video]
This video is a gem!! It has footage of Nobu playing his composition "Whisper of the River", La Campanella, Chopin piano concerto no. 1 with the Nagasaki orchestra; and, with the terrific singer Ayaka Hirahara, renditions of Foster's "Jeanie with the Light Brown Hair", Hoist's "Planet", and more.
It is indeed impressive that Nobu returns this year to hold another commemorative concert for the 80th anniversary of the church -- the day before the launch of the 2025 ARK Philharmonic Japan Tour (August 6 -11).
I have yet to see an announcement of the concert online, and will post further information as soon as it becomes available.
Please stay tuned.
