As I write, it is already New Year's Eve in Japan.
The Nobuyuki Tsujii New Year TV/Radio Specials start there this evening with a re-run of the "Miracle Pianist debut 10th anniversary" show that was aired on BS-Asahi last New Year Eve, followed by a brand-new "Miracle Pianist" Special to be aired tomorrow, New Year Day.
2019 promises to be another exciting year for Nobu and his fans. Ready or not, here it comes!
These are the currently known upcoming concerts on Nobu's calendar:
* January 12, 13 New Year Pianist! shows with 加古隆 Kako Takashi and レ・フレールLes Freres Bunkamura, Tokyo
Outside of the delights of concerts, there are these items to keep in mind:
* June 7 Cliburn Competition Gold Medal 10-year anniversary
* September 13 Nobu turns 31!
* 2020 Tokyo Olympics -- Nobu has publicly expressed his desire to be part of the open/closing ceremonies at the Olympic/Paralympic at his home city. Announcements of the lineup for these performances should be forthcoming. Let's hope the powers-that-be grant his wish!
* NEW CDs: This is pure speculation, but I expect release of recordings of these works -- the Kapustin etudes and the Chopin scherzos .
* NEW BS-Fuji Travelogue: Again, this is just speculation, but I offer the suggest of a show about Nobu's travels in Taiwan and/or Hong Kong in April
***
Above all else, let us wish good health and good cheers for Tsujii-kun, and peace on earth.
Happy New Year, everyone!

Looks like a lot of traveling ahead for Nobu. And at least two new additions to his repertoire: Piano Concerto No. 1 by Liszt and by Shostakovich, respectively. And that's not all. If Nobu's schedule in years past is any guide, there should be other performances not yet disclosed. Some possibilities include these favorites: a "premium recital" tour in Japan, duo recitals with violinist Fumiaki Miura, Yatsugatake Kogen Salon (Nagano mountain resort) summer concerts, and perchance some summer music festivals in U.S. or Europe.
