Back in November, during the 2018 Japan Tour with Iceland Symphony Orchestra, some media personalities traveled to Japan with the orchestra, and there was mentioning of a TV documentary being filmed for Iceland.
It seems the resulting documentary is being shown on Iceland's public TV on January 22 20:05 - 20:45 Iceland time (= 12:05 PM Jan 22 Tuesday in California = 5:05 AM Wednesday Jan 23 in Japan).
Jan 22   What a privilege.
It is unbelievable that everything worked to perfection on such short notice.  Once again I have th utmost admiration for the techological skill of Iceland -- the streaming was punctual, the video of high quality.  As to be expected, the show focuses on the orchestra's experience in Japan, with footage of their hectic schedule and frequent use of Japan's efficient public transport, including a visit to the Yamaha instrument shop in Tokyo.  There is historical footage of Ashkenazy and Nobu, and fresh footage of the orchestra's practice,  rehearsals & performances, includng a brief interview of Nobu, and towards the end, a moving tribute from Ashkenazy to his wife.  There are 5 parts -- they go by in a flash.  The narrative is in Icelandic,  with some English and Japanese.
It is truly a privilege to get to see a documentary from the point of view of a touring orchestra!  Kudos to Iceland Symphony Orchestra and Iceland public TV RÚV.
Quite possibly the station will, in due time, post video clips from the show.  I will keep an eye on on that.  UPDATE: Indeed the full show can now be viewed at http://www.ruv.is/spila/ruv/sinfo-i-japan/20190122, available through April 22 2019.
Meanwhile, here is a short clip of some footage excerpted from the show.

A documentary about the Japanese tour of the Symphony on the RÚV
On Tuesday evening at. 20:05 RÚV will show a documentary about the tour of the Iceland Symphony Orchestra in Japan in the fall of 2018. The orchestra hosted twelve full-house concerts in eleven cities with Japanese pianist Nobuyuki Tsujii, led by Vladimir Ashkenazy, the chief honorary director of the orchestra. The documentary follows the orchestra's exploration of the country during the first days of the trip, at practice, concerts and unexpected events in exotic places.
This page http://www.ruv.is/dagskra/ruv shows the station's schedule for Tuesday Jan 22 and indeed it lists at 20:05-20:45 the program "Sinfó í Japan" [Orchestra in Japan]
RÚV is Iceland's public TV station, and its broadcast is streamed on the Internet at http://www.ruv.is/sjonvarp/beint?channel=ruv
If you are keen on watching the show, I recommend that you check the link ahead of time to be sure that the streaming does work.  And do be aware that the documentary will be narrated in Icelandic!

And here is a posting by the TV station, with a 1-minute preview video "It's a bit like being on a treadmill"

21.01.2019 - 17:07 . David Kjartan Gestsson . Symphony in Japan
...
"It is so difficult when there are whole days during which you can't play except at the airport," said Stefán Jón Bernharðsson, a horn player on one of those trips, at an airport. Musicians have to do everything they can to stay in shape. "This is a bit like being on the treadmill. We need to do this, it's not fun - but absolutely necessary. "
The conductor of the trip was Vladimir Ashkenazy. The Japanese superstar - pianist Nobuyuki Tsujii, who has been blind from birth - is loved and adored in his home country.
The show will be shown at RÚV on Tuesday at 20.05. Programming by Halla Oddný Magnúsdóttir and Egill Eðvarðsson.
