Since I love playing music so much and am better at expressing my feelings with music than with words, I wish everyone would have a chance to see me playing the piano.
Pianist Nobuyuki Tsujii(31yo)
World-class pianist, who won the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in US in 2009 as the first Japanese winner.
Unfortunately, all his concerts were cancelled or postponed now due to the spread of novel coronavirus infection. During this situation, there are many heartfelt praises for the distribution of several free videos of Mr. Tsujii for telling us something in music.
Here is one of them. "When You Wish Upon a Star"
Mr. Tsujii playing "When You Wish Upon a Star", theme song of Walt Disney movie Pinocchio
His fans were swept by this superb sound and reacted to his wish expressed through this song.
Comments from the audience
"When I wish upon a star shines a light on this situation."
"Night sky with a lot of twinkling stars comes to my mind and my heart is full of happiness with the clear sound of his playing."
"I don't know why but tears fall. I feel like my mind is soothed."
Everyone in the audience feels the message of Mr. Tsujii from his choice of song, the lyrics, and the sound of his piano.
Mr. Tsujii has listened to "When You Wish Upon a Star" since he was a child, and it is a memorable song for him. When he visited New York in 2016 and jammed at a local jazz club ["Blue notes"] , he performed the piece unrehearsed.
In addition, another video.
"Taking a Deep Breath" Lyrics
English Translation: Silenka@STAGE48
This one is a song titled "Taking a Deep Breath" composed by a singer-songwriter, Yuichi Ikuzawa and he wrote the song about living together and supporting one another. It is a famous song that Mr. Tsujii previously played on a TV commercial, and so it is a memorable song for him too.
Comments from the audience
"Staying home alone now but connecting with everyone in mind."
"We all relax and take a breath now."
[Nobu says:] "Since music helps me when I have a tough time or bitter experience, I hope everyone enjoy them like being at a concert. I would like to deliver live music at a concert as soon as possible. So, I did this instead."
[Narrator says:] "The power of music also helps himself. Mr. Tsujii told us that playing the piano is something that he can do as a pianistright this moment as the whole world is in a bad state."
[Narrator says:] And now, this is the most praised video after the state of emergency was declared. It is a widely known song "May Spring Come" composed by Yumi Matsutoya. In fact, Mr. Tsujii is playing the song especially for NONSTOP now! Please imagine and enjoy his performance and his wish.

Taking a deep breath
People think of other people
Taking a deep breath
People join together
We're alone but not alone
In our hearts we're not alone
To all the people who are living today
I hope you find a moment you can call happiness
People think of other people
Taking a deep breath
People join together
We're alone but not alone
In our hearts we're not alone
To all the people who are living today
I hope you find a moment you can call happiness

Comments of the audience
"I can imagine the world all children are playing with smile."
"I'm calmly going to wait for the surely coming spring."
"It is a greatest gift for us, who haven't greeted real Japanese spring yet."
[Nobu says:] Since I love playing music so much and am better at expressing my feelings with music rather than with words, I wish everyone would have a chance to enjoy my playing the piano. I will consider what I can do during this self-restraint, and hope to see you as soon as the situation is settled.
Wishing the end of COVID-19, Mr. Tsujii sent a message with his music.
English Translation: beast-senior 810
The rain shower of a faint light
How sweet the face of a winter Daphne
From the buds awash in tears
Their scents, one by one, fill the air
Transcending, transcending the sky
No sooner shall they come for me
O spring, a faraway spring; I close my eyes as it's always there
You, who gave me love; now I can hear your nostalgic voice
O spring, I've yet to see; when I lose my way and stop
You, who brought me a dream; now your gaze caresses me
O spring, a faraway spring; I close my eyes as it's always there
You, who gave me love; now I can hear your nostalgic voice
