辻井伸行氏は指を立てずに鍵盤を撫でるように弾く。普通のレッスンでは「卵を持つような手の形で弾け」と教えられるが、彼の場合指の腹で感触を捉えることが当たり前のことなので、ピアノも指の腹で弾く。だからピアニストにはあり得ないほどに爪は伸びている。
Mr. Nobuyuki Tsujii plays the keyboard as if he were stroking it without lifting his fingers. In ordinary lessons, we are taught to "play in the shape of a hand holding an egg", but in his case it is natural for him to capture the feel with the pads of his fingers, so he also plays the piano with the pads of his fingers. Hence his nails are stretched beyond that of an ordinary pianist.

辻井伸行氏は「全盲なのにピアノが弾けてすごい」わけではない。むしろ逆だ。耳だけで様々なやり取りが出来る能力は演奏家にとって類い稀なる才能。彼はそのチャンスを並々ならぬ努力で誰もが到達できない次元にまで『音楽』を昇華させた。目の見えるピアニストには絶対真似ができないレベル。

辻井伸行さんがピアノを弾くと、フエルトのハンマーがピアノ線に触れてるときに、実に小刻みなビブラートがかかる気がする。それが得も言われぬ響きを生み出し聞く人の耳に、そして切なく心に届く。音色、つまりは空気の振動が誰とも全然違う。彼はものすごく運動神経が良い人でないかとも疑っている。
When Nobuyuki Tsujii plays the piano, I feel that when the felt hammer touches the piano wire, a very small vibrato is applied.
