Nobuyuki Tsujii is returning to Seattle next month (January  2023).

This will mark his first performance in that city since a rousing debut there back in 2013 -- I was there :-) --  a whole decade ago.  Not that Nobu has been forgotten by the good people in Seattle -- he was re-invited to perform there in 2021 & again in spring 2022, both cancelled due to COVID restrictions.

Third time is the charm.  This time, Nobu is scheduled toperform Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No. 2  (Rach 2) on Jan 26 & 28 2023 with conductor Jirí Rožeň and the Seattle Symphony Orchestra.  Two evening performances on a Thursday and a Saturday respectively

THURSDAY January 26 7:30 PM

[Translated] Nobuyuki Tsujii, one of Japan's leading pianists, will perform Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Seattle Symphony. The conductor is Jirí Rožeň, a young conductor who is active internationally.

Mr. Tsujii's musical talent blossomed before he was two years old. At the age of seven he won the 1st prize in the piano section of the All Japan Blind Students Music Competition, and at the age of ten he made his debut with the Osaka Century Symphony Orchestra. In 2005, he won the Polish Critics' Prize at the 15th Chopin International Piano Competition in Warsaw. In 2009 he became the first Japanese winner at the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in the United States. He made his US debut at Carnegie Hall in 2011. He is also a composer and has released numerous albums. Click here for his official website .

His co-starring with the Seattle Symphony scheduled for the spring of 2022 was canceled due to the effects of the coronavirus infection control [by the government of Japan].
